Evanston Escola de Samba

The Evanston Escola de Samba (EEDS) is a non-profit, year round education program offering classes in Brazilian percussion and samba dance for students of all ages. EEDS offers ongoing classes at the Music Institute of Chicago (MIC) and the Levy Center, as well as workshops and residencies in the greater Chicago area.

2010 Summer Classes

Summer Samba Starts June 15th!

Tuesdays 6:00 to 7:00 pm,
June 15th to July 20th (6 weeks)
Location: Music Institute of Chicago (MIC)
2008 Dempster Street, Evanston

Try out classes in Brazilian percussion and dance at MIC. Classes are inter-generational so bring your kids, friends, parents, and grandparents. (open to ages 8 and up)

Tuition: $65

Brazilian perucssion for senior citizens are on Thursdays from June 10th through July 29th, 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Levy Senior Center. Tuition: $65.

Outreach classes funded by the Music Institute of Chicago are offered tuition-free to low-income and under-served youth in partnership with Youth Organizations Umbrella of Evanston.

 


EEDS at MIC is sponsored in part by the Evanston Arts Council, Contemporanea instruments of Brazil and Campagnola restaurant.
